Biography

I have had my clinical psychology practice in Dublin, serving a culturally diverse population, for over 25 years.  I hold the view that an individual develops and matures within the context of many relationships, especially with parents and siblings.  I assess the current level of psychological and emotional development and functioning, the strengths and weaknesses of the individual and the surrounding environment, and the individual's capacity for human relationship and for change.

I have a very collaborative style in which the client and I dialogue to address the client's individual goals.  My specialties include issues of guilt and shame, depression and anxiety, relationship strengths and weaknesses, and issues of medical health and pain.  I see people on a broad range of difficulty of functioning.

The goal of therapy is to facilitate and support experiences which open up positive options for the future.  Based on individual needs and concerns, treatment approaches include brief problem-focused therapy, short-term assessment and referral as well as more intensive long-term work.
