Covid Stress and Long Covid

Covid Stress and

Long Covid
Tuesday, May 24th @ 6:00 - 7:00 PM, 1CE, Via Zoom

Mental health providers have carried the stress of the pandemic not only for themselves, but for their clients. Long Covid affects up to one-third of survivors. We review both topics in the literature with a focus on the neurologic and psychiatric sequelae of the pandemic and in long Covid.

Presenter Bio: Dr. Juliet Morgan is an integrative psychiatrist and neuropsychiatrist working with a variety of clients at CalPsychiatry via telemedicine and in her San Francisco office. She specializes in the integrative treatment of clients with mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, neuropsychiatric illness, and healing from trauma. Dr. Morgan began her career as a neurologist and understands the complex interplay between the structural “hardware” and emotional “software” in the brain. Dr. Morgan has been featured in several media outlets including KQED and CBS for her work with clients with Long-Covid.

Dr. Morgan takes an evidence-based integrative approach to personalized medical care. She provides both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments and draws upon many forms of healing to tailor a treatment plan to a clients unique needs.

During training as both a neurologist and psychiatrist at UCSF, Dr. Morgan pursued additional training in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, addiction psychiatry, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, advanced nutrition, and sleep medicine. She teaches extensively on neuropsychiatry and neuroanatomy at UCSF, where she teaches in both the Neurology and Psychiatry departments.
