Biography

Hello and welcome. I am a Clinical Psychologist working in private practice. I completed my postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek in the adult and teen Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program. I received my doctorate from the Wright Institute in June 2018 and did my pre-doctoral internship at Temple University’s Tuttleman Counseling Services in Philadelphia, PA. My doctoral dissertation contributed to the innovative literature on transdiagnostic treatments.

Services

I provide individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy to adults and teens ages 10+

Specialties

Eating Disorders and Body Image

  • I have worked extensively in the treatment and prevention of eating disorders. I completed my postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek in the adult and teen Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). I have also worked at the outpatient level of care at Temple University and the Berkeley Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic. I believe in a Health at Every Size HAES® approach and utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Family Based Therapy (FBT) treatment modalities.

Chronic Illness and Health Anxiety

  • I am trained through a Health Psychology focused lens and am passionate about the mind body connection. I have worked as a Behavioral Medicine Consultant in primary care, and have supported many clients with illness to live rich and meaningful lives. I am particularly passionate about helping people with issues such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other gastrointestinal disorders. I currently offer a Better Living with Illness group where in 6 weeks you will be able to get support from other group members as well as learn tools and skills to live more in line with your values. The protocol for this group is evidence-based using concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Dating and Relationships

  • Dating and relationships are hard! As a clinical psychologist I have a unique skill set to support you on this journey. Whether you are looking for a partner, having conflict with a loved one, want to work on your social anxiety, or learn how to get your needs met, I am here to support you. I use a schema therapy based approach to help you identify unmet emotional needs in childhood that may be impacting your relationships at present day. We will challenge your core beliefs by empowering you to make real behavioral change. I plan to start a dating and relationships group when I have enough interest. Please contact me if this would be of interest to you!

Other specialties

  • Above I have highlighted only some of my specialties. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of clientele with a variety of presenting concerns. I love variety. Some of my other areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, grief, COVID-19 related stress/loss, spirituality and religion, life transitions, adjustment issues, assertiveness, and mood disorders. If you have questions about whether I can support you, please reach out to me for a free 15 minute phone consultation. If I am not the right therapist for you, I can help you find someone who is.
