Workshop Description

I’m happy to present on strategies and considerations to incorporate AI into clinical practice. Discussing the role of chatbots in remedying or exacerbating (or both) the loneliness epidemic; our clients are already using these chatbots, most of which have not been trained on clinical data.

 

Shiri Sadeh-Sharvit, PhD

Shiri Sadeh-Sharvit, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and a Distinguished Professor of Research at Palo Alto University. She has over 20 years of experience in treating individuals with complex mental disorders and chronic conditions. She has served as a visiting faculty member and a consultant at Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and is an expert on incorporating AI and digital tools into psychological work. Dr. Sadeh-Sharvit lived in Albany, CA for 4 years and regrets leaving.


Learning Objectives

  1. Describe current uses of AI in clinical practice and evaluate the opportunities and risks of integrating AI-enabled services into psychological work.
  2. Identify how client use of generative AI tools may interact with issues such as loneliness, disclosure, and treatment alliance and engagement.
  3. Apply ethical and practical considerations when assessing whether and how to incorporate AI-based tools into your practice.
