Biography
Dr. Ted Obbard works with men and couples on relationship, anxiety, depression, work, teen and parenting issues. His active, engaging style incorporates cognitive-behavioral (CBT), emotion-focused (EFT), solution-focused, psychodynamic, and family systems approaches.
Dr. Obbard received his Doctorate in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. He trained at Kaiser Permanente, the Department of Veterans' Affairs, Alameda Family Services, and the Family Institute of Pinole. In Dr. Obbard’s previous career in high tech, he grew from being an Engineer at Hewlett-Packard to being Vice President of Marketing at a high tech start-up. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and his Masters of Science in the Management of Technology (M.B.A.) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is married with two children and lives in Berkeley, CA.
